IM Racing and The Badger Bimmers go Racing! |

Badger Bimmers is helping to sponsor IM Racing. The team has two ITB 318i cars and a BMW powered Chevron. Club members Erik Ivarson and John Morgan drive and maintain these cars and carry the BMW name in to competition. As part of the sponsorship agreement with the club, Erik and John have a limited number of passes to the events they participate in. Contact Erik if you are interested in learning more. |

Saturday July 1st regional race at Blackhawk - 3rd place Sunday July 2nd regional race at Blackhawk - 5th place. Got meatballed for forgetting to put the passenger window down. 30 grid workers missed it too. The lap I went into the pits, the Loop Racing Scirroco, Redkote Steel 320i and Corola ITB cars all had metal to metal contact at turn one as a Fiero spun at the apex. The Redkote car will be out with damage front and rear while the Loop car survived to finish with nose and tail damage. I guess someone wanted me to stay out of the mess. Great weather, no rain for my races. Broke the heater control valve Saturday - may miss it by OctoberFast. Leslie, John and Darcy crewed and even Joe Conway made it eventually. |

Aug 2000 Cat National Racing Results IM Racing 1-2 finish in ITB!!!
Next race is August 12 & 13 Rennen Driver's School & Champ Regional - Blackhawk Farms. Unfortunately the same weekend as the Club Race at Road America. John and Erik will instruct Saturday and race on Sunday. The Milwaukee Region SCCA results are on the web. |

The first victory for Erik Ivarson came as the lead VW GTI scaled
three pounds light after the race late Sunday. During the race Erik and John Morgan were in sight of the leader but not able to keep in the draft. A Mazda's incident in the kink brought out the pace car allowing us
to catch up to the lead pack. On restart, Erik jumped the gun and was slowed, while John rocketed by to a good lead. Trying to catch up, Erik posted a best time of 2:55.498 (good drafting) and
watched John attempt a daring "Banzai" move into turn five. The move was defeated by fuel pick-up problems and John began to slow noticeably by turn one
of the next lap allowing Erik by. Best time for John's second place was 2:57.901. Impound seemed to last forever as the GTI weighed light all three times. He was
moved to the last place, giving Erik first and John second. Finally we were allowed to go home happy and dent free.
Thanks to Darcy, Leslie, Larry and Mary for their help as crew! It is good to have crew!
