During your Spring clean-up include your license plate lights and trunk lock.  Especially on E30 models, these areas suck in road grime and turn it into rust.  Remove and clean the lights and wax the body cut-outs. Give the lock some grease too.

If your plastic headlight covers are looking dull and lifeless, Meguiar's # 17 Plastic Cleaner and # 10 Plastic Polish do a great job of bringing them back to their former glory.

I found this info regarding the E designation for BMW body types and M designations for engines from a German respondent on the bimmer.org site. I thought it was interesting, hope you do too. Greg Smith

E=Entwicklungsnummer, what I would translate to design number or development number. At BMW every development of a new car gets an internal
number. With the numbers you can follow up the order BMW developed its cars. Some numbers are missed, since not every new concept was put to market.

Engines are marked with an M (=Motor)
