Badger Bimmers / International Autos 3nd Annual Indoor Car Show

The day began with thunderstorms rolling through Southeastern Wisconsin. I awoke this  morning at 4:00  with several loud lightening crashes. I thought this cannot be happening!  All the efforts that I have put into my car over the past two weeks have all gone to waste. The cleaning, vacuuming, scrubbing, and the waxing that I performed was all going to be ruined with this downpour.

How was I going to get my car to International Auto for the car show without destroying all of my previous efforts done before the car show? I proceeded to make my AM coffee and gather up a plan of action. I packed my car product bag with window cleaner, tire spray, wax, rags, and a big towel for drying off the car upon my arrival at IA.

Miracles do happen……nearly 3 hours after I was initially awoken out of my sleep, the sun began appearing through the clouds. As I was peering out of my balcony, I was able to see that the concrete on the road was beginning to dry up and get to a point where I was almost willing to attempt the drive to IA. I packed my product bag in the trunk and then decided no better time than the present. I was going to make a drive of it!

My efforts were quite successful as I was able to make my quest without any spray from the road from any trucks or cars. I was especially careful not to drive through any puddles too! I arrived at IA, the condition of my car was nearly almost what it was as to when I initially left the house!

Upon my arrival, Dan Jansen of International Autos had coordinated a beautiful breakfast of doughnuts (my favorite), pastries, bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit platters, juice and coffee. There was an absolute abundance of everything!

Next came the registration process, Sarah Erdmann and Steve Werner were busy at work doing the intake of the vehicles while David Schnitzer was busy assisting with the parking of the cars! There were a total of 19 cars entered for today’s event.

For a new twist of the event we had the band Looming Larger play! This band consists of two of our board members, Todd Ciske and Jeff Joy. The band was a great new addition to the event.

The judges then arrived! For this event we used the expertise of John Morgan, David Schnitzer, and John Vasos. All three of these judges have many years experience with the vehicles and a true passion for these cars! The vehicles were judged on interior, exterior, trunk, and overall condition of the car.

After critiquing each car individually, the results were in…..and the winner’s are……

International Autos donated many gift certificates for this event ranging in denominations of $50.00 and $25.00 certificates for future use to our members!

This event was well attended, and it was so nice to see such a vast variety of cars that were displayed. This is truly a test of time that proves that these vehicles are made for the long duration of time!

Myself and the Badger Bimmer Chapter would like thank International Auto for hosting this event for us and their generosity! We would also like to thank Dan Jansen and Jim for their assistance in hosting this event for our chapter!
