Badger Bimmer's Board Meeting Minutes March 11, 1999
It was a full house at the Ale House (we had a sort-of-private room) when new president, Mustafa, called the meeting to order at 7:25.
Attendance: Mustafa Emir (president), Darcy Yench (vice-president), Mike Stello (treasurer), Clarence Behrend (editor), Mary Medo (secretary), Mike Dams, Erik Ivarson, John Morgan, Larry Boyer, Brad Radcliffe, Matthew Buckau, Mike Clemens, Dave Herr, CR Kneger, Scott Culbertson, and Paul Szedziewski.
The minutes from last month's meeting were approved.
The treasurer reported that in addition to regular expenses, like the newsletter, we spent a fair amount on the Holiday Party and have paid deposits to Road America and Blackhawk as well as other miscellaneous expenses.
OLD BUSINESS
The rally is scheduled for April 10th. (update the new date is June 12th) Darcy will contact Peter regarding a change of date. If Peter is ready to run the rally, Clarence will send a mailing RIGHT AWAY and the rally will go on as previously scheduled. If Peter needs more time, we will reschedule and notify members via the newsletter.
Brad and Clarence are devoting an incredible amount of time and energy to planning the concour and car show scheduled on May 23rd in Jefferson. They gave a detailed report on their progress and it's obvious that this will to be an outstanding event that the whole family will enjoy. For the drivers showing their cars: security, a high school German student to run errands and watch your car while you take a break, drawings from prizes, and awards from concour judges. For spectators and participants: really cool cars (and motorcycles) to look at, people's choice ballots, lots of food and beverages, vendor displays, live music - jazz and German, exhibits to see, and goodies to buy.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Sign up to show your German car!! It won't be much of a show without you. Please contact Clarence (see masthead) or Brad (414-259-7879) to volunteer to help. They need members to contact possible vendors, send press releases to the media, and help during the event. Contact Mary (414-332-3591 mmedo@execpc.com) if you want to be a judge.

NEW BUSINESS
The Board voted to give a guest membership to Peter Klinger who has spend countless hours setting up the rally and has supported many club activities.
Darcy will keep master copies of all forms from National.
Matt Buckau suggested a Poker Run that will enable members from around the state to participate and will encourage all members to take their families and cars on day-trips throughout the state. His plan is to divide the state into five sections and have one person in each section arrange for two locations, e.g. ice cream parlor, restaurant, or trendy shop, to distribute playing cards to BMW drivers. Members would have all summer to collect cards. At the annual Holiday Party (probably held at a more central location) prizes will be give for the best poker hands. Sounds like fun!
John Morgan suggested that the Board send a letter to Dave Farnsworth congratulating him on being elected regional vice-president. The Board agreed.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40.
