My 325 at Road America Photo: Edmund Lacis, Photoshoping Tom Hubbard |
Pictured, my 325i at the OctoberFast event at Road America (Turn 5). This is a great event; everyone should do it at least once. I know I will be back many more times. Thanks to my instructor, Jeff Joy!
The car had about 70,000 when I got it about 4 years ago. The first year and a half I used it for a job that I drove about 50,000 miles a year doing. Being in the car so much was the main reason for the extensive stereo upgrade. Recently, it has been around home more but has made several trips to the East coast and a couple out to Montana. How I long for the good old days of reasonable and prudent speed in the Big Sky Country! Currently, the car has just over 174,000 miles on it and it is still going strong.
Modifications and highlights:
- Dinan Chip - noticeable throttle response improvement, redline is raised to 7200 and it seems to have a bit more seat of the pants acceleration.
- Bilstein's all around. Just stock Heavy-Duty versions. They improve handling without altering the stock compliance.
- Yokohama AVS Intermediate tires. A great performance value. Super wet weather grip. Make sure you have some Hakkas or Blizzaks for the winter though!
- M3 exhaust. Love the sound! Not too loud.
- Pioneer Elite head unit and CD Changer
- ADS component speakers
- ADS amp
- JL Audio 3-series subs. These are very cool units because they mount above the shock towers and do not take up any trunk room!
