Old Business:
Black Hawk Lapping Day – Mary reported that 35 cars are entered. There will be 3 run groups (advanced and instructors, intermediate and experienced novices). Everything is set for the day.
Audi Black Hawk Driving School – This event is full. About 20 Badger Bimmer members are signed up. There will be 80 to 85 cars at the school.
Club Logo – Nothing to report..
MGA – Registration is at 7:30 and the event begins at 8:30. There is some question about the number of lunches required. We tries to contact Mike Dains but were unable to. We left a message asking Mike to call Keith to let him know the number of lunches required. We also discussed the menu for lunch with Keith.
Old business (continued)
Annual Picnic at the BRIC – Chris is making arrangements for the food. We approved a budget of $100. John will either take the tents to Road America or arrange with someone (maybe Chris) to take them. Nothing has been done about moving the location. Chris and/or CR will attempt to find someone at Road America to help in finding a new location. If we aren't successful the picnic will be held in the old location on the outside of the track between turns 3 and 4.
Autocross – We gave the SCCA a deposit of $100 to hold a place for a number of Badger Bimmer members to run together at the autocross at Milwaukee county stadium on July 16th. This is being done instead of trying to organize our own event. Badger Bimmer members can also attend the Milwaukee PCA autocross event and pay the PCA rate instead of the non-member rate.
New Business:
Driving School Coordinator – John reported that he is stepping down as driving school coordinator and will be helping CR take over. John will help CR with the Road America event and write a document explaining what the coordinator does and how he does it. The board approved this change.
SCCA Radios – Mary reported that the Milwaukee region SCCA is selling a number of 2way radios for $225 each. We discussed buying some of them for use at our events. We tabled the discussion until the next meeting to determine if we really have a use for them. If we do need some 2way radios we may be able to get by with some family communicator type radios.
Fall tour – Mary reported that she will organize a fall tour. Details and dates to follow.
Audi Road America Drivers School – Larry passed out some applications for the Audi school. This school will be held on the 25th and 26th of September.
Winter Driving School – John reported that he is trying to organize a winter driving school. He is trying to get Peter Cunningham as the chief instructor.
Adjournment: Mike adjourned the meeting at 8:00 (a new record). The next meeting will be held on August 10th at Mini's.
