Attendance: Mustafa Emir, Darcy Yench, Jay Schmidt, Mike Clemens, Dave Herr, Chris Fredette, Jerry Z., Greg Smith, Clarence Behrend, Mary Medo
Call to Order: 7:30 pm by Mustafa. Darcy took minutes in Joe's absence.
Treasurer's Report: As of May, the club has $20,300.38.
Membership: 774 members. 22 new members
Old Business:
Blackhawk: Mary reported that we need about 33 participants to break even on the event, June 7th. So far, she has 18 paid registrants. Registration will need help. Mike Clemens and Jay Schmidt have stepped up to assist. Recommended to bring your own food as the food service has changed hands. Everyone will get a tech sheet via email 2 weeks prior to the event. Mary will notify MWC, Audi-Chi. and Mike will get the event put up on the Windy City web site. Mike passed out info at RA event.
Cling-on decal stickers: Mike ordered 1,000 (9 sq. in) club decals for $560 from Morton Suggestions, Marshall Smith, a BMW – Windy City club member. They should be ready in a couple of weeks. Discussion about how these could be distributed concluded that the new member packets forth coming will contain one and for the driving events this year, participants will receive one. The rest will be made available for purchase at $1.00/each at various social events.
Spring Clean Up: John Morgan has coordinating the event with Mike Loos. Times 10 am – 3 pm.
Newsletter: Clarence got the May Newsletter ready and as of 5/9 it was getting stamped and would be mailed 5/10. The application for Blackhawk was in it and is already on the website. Treffpunkt info is in it also.
Joe, Clarence and ? Don Wilson? will be working on future IMMERS. Don will be working with the layout and take over next issue. Quark was mentioned at the software being used. He will be checking on print houses that will address and stamp when printing. Joe will be the point person to send articles to and Darcy volunteered to review articles if wanted before submitting them to Joe.
RA Oct. event: Mike reported that the insurance bill was $2,115. up from last year's $1,500. Track rental also went up $1,000/day. Security will be charged at 3 persons@20/hr/12hr . ~ $720. We will also have the corner worker expense. Costs have gone up and we will probably need to raise the fee for OktoberFAST. No price was set.
Treffpunkt: 20 preregistered. Registration starts at 7 am. Mustafa said Laura might be able to help with the car painting with the kids. Ride About needs some help.
Fall Tour: Greg reported that Jeff Joy would talk to a friend about a rally route for Oct. 26 ride up to LaCrosse. 10 rooms have been reserved at the Guest House Motel, 810 S. 4th Street, LaCrosse, WI 54601, (608) 784-8840. You will need to call the motel for your reservation and give a credit card to hold the room. Identify yourself as a BMW Club – Badger Bimmer member. The room rate is $65.00 and the total is due upon check-in. The rooms will only be held unsecured until 9/20/02. After that time all unassigned rooms will be released for general sale. Chris Rasmussen, owner of the Nighthawks Tap Room, 401 S. 3rd St. and club member will have Kevin BF Burt and the Investigators, a soul blues band out of Iowa City for our evening entertainment. You'll need to say "Badger Bimmer" at the door to get in free. The show will start at 10 pm. Darcy will be checking into a restaurant Chris recommended for dinner after our arrival on Sat.

M-B Club Combined Events: Mustafa and Joe went to their last board meeting. Jerry reported about upcoming dates. If we are going to do things together in the future, we need to coordinate information so we don't have events on the same days.
New business: none discussed
