Attendance: Darcy Yench, John Morgan, Jay Schmidt, Mike Clemens, Greg Smith, Joe Conway, Dave Herr, Mary Medo, Will Duffy, Paul Szedziewski.
Call to Order: 7:26 pm by Darcy. Joe took minutes
Treasurer's Report: not available
Membership: 8 new members, 804 total members
Old Business:
Blackhawk – Mary – wonderful day, 34 paid drivers, no incidents
OctoberFAST: 15 paid registrations so far. 7 Advanced 4 Novice 2 Instructors 1 Instructor(?) 1 Intermediate
Total for deposit….$5,475.00. 13 signed up for dinner. 6 signed up for Friday lapping day. Insurance is $2,100 this year, a $700 increase from last year.
We need to get classroom instructors for O'FAST. It was suggested we try to find some new people. Mary mentioned Steve Isaacson would be a good person for Advanced drivers and would contact him. John said he would talk to Harry Manning and Duck Waddle for novice and intermediate instruction.
Fall Tour: Greg, Joe, have talked some and the basic plan is to leave Milwaukee at 9:00am and drive to New Glarus. Maybe get a tour through the brewery there then leave around noon. The next stop should be at Richland Center then take 171 to the Mississippi River and north to LaCrosse arriving between 5:30 and 6pm. Information should go into the IMMER. Darcy will get a registration note in there so we have some kind of idea how many people to expect.
Member Badges: A new vendor was secured to order the badges from. They should be here in about 2 weeks.
Club Race: Concours, International Auto and Knauz have each contributed $500. for the BMW Club Race. Two of the participants also gave us money to help offset the costs. Mary Ellen Resenhoeft of Body Language did the t-shirts for the event. They are mock turtleneck with Badger Bimmers down one sleeve and the sponsors on the other sleeve. Mike Clemens will make the shirts available to members at $20.00 after the event.
Car Control Clinic: Reported to be very successful. The lights Chris made were great. There were lots of good helpers and lots of fun was had. Thanks to Chris Fredette for heading the event. He has volunteered to coordinate the exercises for O'FAST this year.
Badger Bimmer Committees: Greg had samples of letters we could possibly use for sending to new members. He handed out paper copies and will email us the electronic versions.
Advertising Contracts: Greg Smith worked up a few sample letters to send out and some information for Joe and Don to use to help get advertising for the IMMER. We still need a contract for advertising with us.
Helmet Release Forms: Mary used the helmet release form on August 2nd. We will do this at O'FAST also.
Budget Committee: Jay and Mike Stello will put together a budget process for the club. Will needs to supply the spreadsheets to the information.
New Business:
Nominating Committee for 2003 officers: Mary Medo has volunteered to be on the committee. Paul Szedziewski said he would help with the committee also.
Adjournment: Darcy adjourned the meeting at 8:26 pm. The next meeting will be held on Sept. 12th at 7:00 PM. Location is upstairs at the BBC on the NW corner of North Ave. and Farwell, Milwaukee, WI
