Old Business:
Bucks Basket Ball Game – Dave reported that there were only 2 requests for tickets. We will go ahead with the event as there won't be any cost to the club and it will count toward our event total reported to national.
Member Survey – Dave reported on the results of the member survey. The number one requested event was of course driving school at Road America. Second was the annual dinner followed by auto cross and the car show. Dave will write an article for the Immer with the results.
Ski Outing – Mary reported that the ski outing to Devils Head is scheduled for 3/10 and 3/11. An announcement will be in the next Immer with the details including lodging.
Ice Driving – 4 people cancelled shortly before the event. We discussed refunds and the board voted 3 to 2 to not give refunds. There was no refund policy in the description of the event in the Immer.
New business
Advertising – Mustafa reported that advertising rates for the Immer have been created and given to both the Little Car Shop and Knauz BMW (Kevin Hale). The rates will also be published in the Immer. The Little Car Shop will pay for ads placed in the Immer during 2000 and in the future. Greg will work on creating advertising rates for the web site.
Donated Items – We discussed how the club should thank companies that donate items to the club like for the raffle at the holiday party. In the past the club has sent a letter thanking the company for the donation. We will continue to do that plus we will put the thank you in the Immer and on the web site.
Autocross – Dave talked about the Windy City autocross event that will be held at Tire Rack in South Bend on July 30th and July 1st. The first day is for practice and the second day is the timed competition. Badger Bimmer members are invited. Brain talked about an autocross event at Lake Geneva race way. They would set up a separate class just for us like the event at the stadium last summer. Brian will get some more information and get it to Clarence for the Immer.
Blackhawk Lapping Days – Mary asked for a check for $1000.00 for a deposit for the 2 lapping days at Blackhawk.
Road America – Darcy said the deposit this year for Road America is $10,000.00. An initial payment of $2000.00 must be made to hold the dates.
Car Show – Clarence talked about the space problems at the Jefferson country fair grounds. We will have enough outdoor space but indoor space incase of rain will be limited. There are other events taking place at the fair grounds at the same time as the car show. We also decided that the car show must be run so that there is no net cost to the club. All of the clubs expenses must be paid before the contribution is made. We will look for sponsors for this event.
Adjournment: Mustafa adjourned the meeting at 8:45. |
