Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:15 by Mustafa. This meeting was on October 11th and was held at the Mequon/Thiensville library.
Prior Meeting Minutes: The September meeting minutes were approved with one change. Erik was listed as having attended the meeting. He didn't.
Treasurer's Report: Will presented a report covering September 13th to October 11th. The beginning balance was 37,348.36, deposits were 10,001,27, disbursements were 13,834.33 giving a balance of 33,515,30 in the checking account. We also have a $5,500.00 certificate of deposit giving an overall balance of $39,015.30
Membership: A report was not available.
Old Business:
October Fast – Mary reported that the event was a success. A full accounting of the revenue and costs for the event will be available for the November board meeting. During the event we sold hats for $20 with the proceeds going to the 9/11 fund. We raised a total of $585. Darcy will write a letter and send it to the fireman's and/or policeman's fund. There were 2 incidents at the event. The forms for reporting the incidents were completed along with the request for insurance rebate. These forms will be faxed and mailed to national.
Holiday Party – Darcy reported that the Astor has agreed to a date of 1/19/02. There was some discussion on the party and it was decided to have a cash bar this year. In the days following the meeting we discussed in emails if we will be able to meeting the minimum charge for the bar that the Astor wants to charge. The minimum is $1300. If we get 80 people everyone would have to spend $16.25. This isn't likely. Darcy will discuss the situation with the Astor and we will consider other places to hold the party.
Immer Advertising – Nothing collected yet. Mustafa will make sure the bills are sent out.
Chili Tasting – This event has been cancelled.
Packers Game – We will hold and event at Champs sports bar in Brookfield on December 16th.
Board Elections – Board members terms for Mary, Jay and Joe are up at the next election. Darcy's term as vice president and Mike's term as secretary are also up at the next election. CR will head the nomination committee. A notice will be placed in the next Immer asking for people you want to run for office. The ballots along with candidate statement will be in the following Immer.
New business
Winter Driving Clinic – Brian asked the board if we were interested in running another winter driving clinic like the one we did last year. We agreed we were interested but that a number of changes would be necessary. Brain and Mustafa will work with Dave Parps and his group to determine if they are interested in working with us again this year. One of things we would like to change is the charge from Dave's group. Mike will also check with Peter Bitterman from the Audi club to see if they want to have a joint event.
Club Race – We agreed to organize the club race again next year. The race will probably be held during the weekend of August 10th and 11th. This year there won't be a conflict with Ofest so we may be able to get more racers to enter. We will also try to organize an area in the paddock were all of the club racers can park.
Chapter Meeting – Mustafa reported on parts of the chapter meeting that was help the first weekend in October. There was some discussion about the national driving events committee and if the members of the committee should be appointed or elected. Further information about the meeting will be available at the November meeting.
Adjournment: Mustafa adjourned the meeting at 8:30. The next meeting will be held on November 8th at the Mequon/Thiensville Library.
