Badger Bimmer's Board Meeting Minutes June 10, 1999 Mini's in Glendale

The meeting was called to order by Mustafa at 7:17 p.m.

Attendance: Mustafa Emir Pres), Darcy Yench (VP), Clarence Behrend (editor), Dave Herr (member), Mike Stello (Tres), John Morgan (Speed Events Chairman), C.R. Krieger (past Pres) & Claire, Mike Clemens, Brad Radcliffe, Pete Klinger, Erik Ivarson, John Barbian, Chris Fredette

Minutes: Clarence/Mike S. Approved

Treasurer's report: Clarence/Darcy Approved

Membership: Badger Bimmers currently has 631 members. 15 new, 43 renewing, 16 non-renewing.

Old Business:

Treffpunkt: Fantastic event, moved indoors because of weather. Used two buildings. 52 entries. Lots of positive feedback. Music was good. Accounting will be presented next time. Suggested to move date to June 11, 2000. Awards for different classes with one overall winner-best of show. Much appreciation goes to Brad and Clarence for the great job and the start of a new annual event.

Rally: June 12, 7 confirmed/1 more says will come, Approximately 3 hrs in length.

Dr. School/Blackhawk: 15 instructors, 25+ registered, meeting/registration on Friday night at Holiday Inn, Packets are forthcoming, Lazy River Folk festival might be held in conjunction with this event.

Dr. School/RA: 18 students, 2 instructors so far. Walter Bohren will be head instructor for the event.

Champagne Picnic: Mustafa will be getting food

Edelweiss: Cocktail cruise, date TBD

Logo Contest: Board will be judging the logos July 8.

Incorporation: Mustafa signed the papers. CR will mail them out.

IM Racing: Chapter sponsored SCCA, vintage, BMW Club race team.

Electronic sharing: Mustafa will keep us posted.

NC Region Pipeline: Dave Farnsworth says it?s OK to use his stuff in our newsletters. John will contact Dave about the ideas & guidelines for a lapping group on a national basis.

National Mission Statement: was developed at the National Board meeting in Boston. The mission of the BMW Car Club of America is to enhance the BMW experience for our members by providing services, support, information and activities that promote camaraderie and encourage social awareness and responsibility.

Newsletter Editors Conference: Sept. 24-26 Austin, Texas Darcy/Mike to send Clarence. passed.

Club Banners: Deal fell through, Mustafa will keep tabs on.

Rocky Mountain Motorworks: Proposal by official vendor. Erik will talk to Greg about adding link. Report back next time. CR/Clarence to let web gurus to decide if it yields more than the bother is. Passed.

IMMER: Clarence reports the next publication is due out at the end of the month. Submissions due by end of third week.

Bucks activity night: Dave Herr checked into the luxury box idea. We need about 25 people. Should plan to do this in February.

NEW BUSINESS:

Brad Radcliffe was contacted by Dr. Michael Cula about doing something like our past car show and maybe add a driver's school with service auction possibly at State Fair Park to benefit the Milwaukee Leukemia Foundation.

Operations Manuals: passed out to CR, Darcy and Mike Stello
