Treasurer's Report: approved — Total funds are $43,055

Membership: (Mustafa) 647 members, 643 members last month, National membership, including associates, 51,945.

OLD BUSINESS

Blackhawk Cheers for Larry and Mary for putting on a top-notch event. Thanks also for C.R . for overseeing the tech crew, Mike Dains for coordinating the exercises, Ron Clarkson for the fine classroom instruction, Darcy Yench for coordinating corner workers, Mike Olson for tech and photography, Angelika Behrend, Mat Kroupa, Brad Clarkson, and Brad Radcliffe for helping wherever needed, and to everyone else who pitched in to make everything run smoothly.

The instructors were the finest group one could imagine and came from the Quattro Club, Midwestern Council, and the BMW Club. Many students commented on how well matched they were with their instructors.

Some Windy City members commented on how much they enjoyed the event because of the over-all attitudes of all participants, the smoothness with which the event ran, and the camaraderie that blanketed the weekend.

Unfortunately, not many Badger Bimmers advance drivers attended. We missed them!

We had a couple of spin-out's, but nobody side-swiped a guard rail or met a tree head-on, therefore, we will be getting a $600 rebate from the insurance company.

The Lazy River Folk Festival ran smoothly and, for the most part, did not interfere with the Drivers' School.

The Board approved a motion to make this an annual event.

OctoberFAST October 15, 16, & 17, 1999

All systems GO! The novice group is full and has eight drivers on a waiting list. The Intermediate group is also full with four on a waiting list. We have plenty of room for more lapping and advanced drivers. Send in those registrations now!

We have about 25 instructors so far, but need more. Several have given their verbal commitment, but have not yet sent in their registration forms.

Everything is looking good and this promises to be another FABULOUS event.

Chris Fredette reported that the Dent Wizard is interested in coming to RA. The track charges a substantial vendor fee, and Chris will check it out.

Edelweiss Cruise October 2, 1999

We have reserved a boat for a cocktail cruise and can accommodate 50 people. See the announcement in the newsletter and send your reservations to Mustafa.

IMAX - Super Speedway November 6, 1999

Matt Buckau contacted Lazer 103 regarding the Hunger Task Force and asked that they have a truck at the museum to pick up all food donations. Scott will put an announcement in the Steinlifter, the PCA's newsletter.

Tools and Equipment

This newsletter includes a notice of the sale of Club equipment that is in good condition but no longer needed or used by the Club.

The drivers' school at Blackhawk attracted a number of first-time drivers, but some did not have helmets. A number of instructors and participants brought helmets to lend. After assessing the logistics of matching students with helmets, it was agreed that there is a better way to accommodate this need. The Board approved a motion to purchase six Snell SA95 open-faced helmets that will be rented to drivers' school participants who do not have helmets. John Morgan was appointed to purchase the helmets.

Holiday Party, January 15, 1999

The Party Girls will prepare a flyer for the newsletter.

Bucks Game February 19, 2000

Dave Herr will rent a sky box for the 7:30 game against Vancouver. Mark your calendars! This looks like it will be tons of fun, even if you're not a basketball fan.

Autocross September 12, 1999

REMINDER: Starting at 9:30 in the east parking lot of the stadium, PCA will hold another autocross.

Club Banner

National has banners for the chapters that will be send during the third week of September. Unfortunately, each banners has the BMW CCA, but not Chapter logo. Looks like it's back to the drawing board.

MGA

There is a lot of interest in holding more than one Car Control Clinic at MGA, so the Board agreed to sponsor two events — either two in the summer or one in the summer and one in the winter. Mike Dains will look into the possibility of holding a winter school and report his findings at the next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Photography Expenses

Mike Olson, volunteered to take pictures at Blackhawk with his digital camera and is sending prints and a CD ROM to Clarence. Mike's photos will give us some pretty decent pictures for the newsletter, but not without cost to him. The Board approved a motion to reimburse Mike (and any other Club member who makes arrangements with Clarence) for costs incurred for photography at Club events.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00.
