1998 318ti

Todd & Renee Ciske are please to announce yet another Bimmer arrival to the BigBear Garage!!

We recently welcomed a 1998 318ti, Jet Black with black leatherette interior, 68k miles, auto shift, heated seats that's completely original in great shape! The car came with the usual Chicago door dings  and a bit of deferred maintenance- but is a fine example of the 1.9L handy hatchback. This is Renee's new daily driver with a nod to the excellent gas mileage (31 MPG).

Upgrades so far are new 225/50 15 Khumo Ecsta 711 tires on hand-me-down 328i alloy rims (the 318ti came w/steel and hubcaps), BAS sport springs (3" lowering) and Bilstein sport shocks, rubber floormats, a set of angel eyes projector headlamps with integrated clear corner lights, and clear side marker lights.

Update:
Since aquiring my '97 328i in September, 2003 w/48k miles, I have put 18k miles on it in 10 months! This car makes you take the long way home every time!

Upgrades include:

  • clear corner markers and side lights
  • Style 39 17" wheels from a '98 M3
  • Kumho Ecsta tires
  • rear cargo mat and cargo net
  • and rear deck spoiler from a '96 M3 (thanks Don's Auto Body in West Allis!)

I have also picked up a set of steel wheels and Hakkapalita tires for snow season. My Field Report from last winter is that these tires combined with the BMW 50/50 weight split and traction control made snow and slippery roads a non-issue.

Original:
Just bought it, my first BMW, with 48k miles. Got the "Nice Car, Thumbs Up" from the Little Car Shop. Use to drive an '88 Toyota 4x4 all rusted out before this. I'm still in shock.....Just bought a set of Blizzaks for the upcoming season, and I am shopping for some steel wheels to put them on.

Just got back from a road trip to Minneapolis and I am so sold on this car...it truly is the 'Ultimate Driving Machine'. Wax On...Wax Off...

Todd & Renee Ciske are please to announce the arrival of a new Bimmer to the BigBear Garage!!

A 1987 325is, Alpine White with black leather interior, 118k miles, manual shift, and completely original in excellent shape! The car came with a nice stack of service records, Bentley manual, and a bottle of Zymol. This is my new daily driver with a nod to the club Driver's Schools. Upgrade plans will first focus on the suspension and brakes.
