Old Business:
Bylaw update – Darcy reported on a number of changes mostly dealing with elections that are being proposed. An updated document will be prepared and distributed to all board members. The changes will be considered at the next meeting in June.
Blackhawk Lapping Day – Mary reported that the application for the single lapping day at Blackhawk was in the last issue of the Immer. Help is needed with registration (Brad volunteered) and with driving the fire engine and wrecker. Help is also needed for the start/finish line. Jeff Harvey also volunteered to help. Registration will be at the track starting at 7am. Lapping will be from 9am to 4:30pm.
Audi Blackhawk Driving School – A number of slots are being held for BMWCCA members for the Audi event at Blackhawk. This driving school is being held on August 19th and 20th. The application was in the last issue of the Immer. If you want to attend get your application in as soon as possible.
Rental Helmets – In the past the board approved purchase of 6 helmets for rental at out driving schools. Darcy and/or Mary will check into purchasing these helmets so that they are available for the July event at Black Hawk.
Club Logo – Jenny is almost done..
Old business (continued)
Annual Picnic at the BRIC – Chris is working on finding a new place to hold the picnic at Road America..
Autocross – Mustafa that Case High School in Racine no longer is renting their parking lot for events. Bob Clark is looking for an alternate site.
Trefpunkt Car Show – Brad provided an update on Trefpunkt:
1. Kelly Moss Racing will provide a 911 GTR3 race car for display.
2. Jazz band from the high school will play.
3. An ad was placed in the Journal (statewide).
4. Registration for a number of cars has already been received.
5. The fee to show a car is $15.00, this might not have been clear from the Immer.
6. Finger painting of a BMW for kids will be available.
7. Food is still somewhat of a problem. There will be hamburgers and brats available.
8. Watertown cable will have a feature about the show, also some radio exposure.
Badger Bimmer Babies – Brad will provide an update at the next board meeting.
New Business:
WEB Site Advertising – Tony Silvia presented a proposal for advertising on the Badger Bimmer's web site. Tony's works for Telegration, Inc. They sell Sprint PCS cellular service and Ameritech internet connections. The basic deal Tony presented was for a referral fee to be paid to the chapter each time a sale is made as a result of the advertising on the web site. We discussed a number of things about the proposal including how the referral process would work and if the payment should be a combination of a flat fee and a referral fee. We deferred action on the proposal until all board members have had a chance to read the proposal and until Clarence can talk to Greg Smith (webmaster) about placement of the add on the web site.
Korman Drive for the Cure – Mustafa announced dates for the drive as 7/18 – Racine, 7/19 – International Autos, 7/20 – Concours. You should be able to signup to drive the cars at www.bmwusa.com. In past years there have been 10 to 15 different current year models to drive for 20 to 30 minutes with no sales person in the car.
Adjournment: Mustafa adjourned the meeting at 8:30. The next meeting will be held on June 8th at Mini's.
