Old Business:
Bylaw update – A number of changes were suggested by Mustafa and these were approved. Darcy will update the document. The board voted to approve the bylaws with the changes suggested by Mustafa. The new bylaws will be posted on the web site and may be published in a future issue of the Immer.
Black Hawk Lapping Day – Mary reported that 12 applications had been received. The application needs to be added to the web site. Mary will send Greg Smith a copy to be posted. The drivers meeting will be at 8:30am with the first cars on track at 9am. Volunteers are needed to help with registration and other areas.
Audi Black Hawk Driving School – A number of slots are being held for BMWCCA members for the Audi event at Black Hawk. This driving school is being held on August 19th and 20th.
Rental Helmets – Due to possible liability issues the board voted not to purchase helmets for rental at club track events.
Club Logo – Nothing to report..
Old business (continued)
Annual Picnic at the BRIC – Eric will not be racing at the BRIC this year so we won't be able to use his trailer to transport anything to the picnic. Volunteers will be needed to take things to the track. Chris was not present so we didn't get a report on a possible change of location for the picnic at Road America.
Autocross – Bob Clark reported that it is becoming very difficult to find somewhere to hold an autocross event. He suggested we enter a group in one of the SCCA events that are held at Milwaukee County stadium. He said that if we pre pay for 5 entries ($100 total) they would let all Badger Bimmer members run as a group. We will try to organize this for the SCCA event on July 16th. A notice will be placed in the Immer.
Trefpunkt Car Show – Brad and Clarence provided an update on Trefpunkt.
Everyone agreed it was a big success.
Approximately $3500 was raised.
100 cars were entered.
16 motorcycles were entered.
Attendance was approximately 500.
Extra tee shirts are for sale on the web site.
Planning has already started for next year.
Next year the event will be the Sunday between Mother's day and Memorial day.
Badger Bimmer Babies – Nothing to report.
Car Control Clinic – Mike Dains reported that everything is set for the event on 7/15. The charge is $40 and the application will be in the next issue of the Immer. There will be a limit of 50 (32 will cover our costs). Volunteers are needed to transport cones to the event and to run some of the exercises.
Web Site Advertising – Greg Smith reported on what other clubs charge for advertising on various web sites. After much discussion the board approved charging $100/quarter for a banner add and $25/quarter for a link. No adds will be allowed on the home page. Adds can be placed on the next highest use pages such as the calendar page.
New Business:
Immer publication – Clarence asked that the timing of the publication of the Immer be changed so that it is after the monthly board meeting. In the past the Immer was published before the board meeting. This change will allow items that are discussed at the board meeting to be in the next issue of the Immer.
Member Survey – Dave Herr asked about doing a survey of the members to determine the types of events the club should schedule. The board approved Dave creating a survey for publication in the Immer. Dave will collect the results.
Adjournment: Mustafa adjourned the meeting at 9:00. The next meeting will be held on July 13th at Mini's.
