Minutes for Badger Bimmer BMW Club Board Meeting
Calderone Club – 3rd Street Downtown
June 12, 2003
Attendance: Jeff Joy, John Lofgren, Paul Szedziewski, David Schnitzer, Mustafa Emir, Don Gawronski, Joe Conway, John Morgan, Chris Fredette, Frank M., Greg Smith, Steve Werner, Linda Gaw, Katie Pierce Christine (aka: Missy).

Secretary's Report: Approved
Treasurer's Report: $39,284.84 approved
Membership: 16 new members, 849 total members
Old Business:
IMMER: June 25th deadline for July IMMER
Blackhawk Darcy will obtain insurance the week following the board meeting. Total collected $3865.00. To break even, the Blackhawk school will require ~12 more paid students. The down payment has been made to the track.

Car Control Clinic Chris Fredette. A check for $530.00 was supplied to Chris for parking lot rental & clean up. Mike Clemens is handling the insurance payment. 10 students are signed up and all instructors have been coordinated. Students 16 & 17 years of age will be required to have both parental signatures to participate.
Cones – Steve still has not been able to secure them, but is working on it.
Annual Dinner –Will be at Pandl's in Bayside. John Morgan is looking into paid speakers. Jeff Joy will contact Scott Blazey re: bringing in someone from BMW Motorsport.
OFAST: Still looking for volunteers to help with clean tech, exercises, etc. The Osthoff will again offer a group rate for rooms. $140/single and $160/double. Still waiting on Siebken's for the new menu, they have a new chef this year, also. Registration is in the current IMMER and available on the website. Greg will update the web link.
Autocross – June 29th @ Miller Park parking lot. Mike Clemens has BMW banners available for the event. Bob Clark will coordinate grid for BMW cars
The Car Show, June 22, 2003 at International Autos. David provided score sheet drafts. John M. Erik Ivarson, John Vlassos will be judges. International Autos will supply food, beer and drinks & an assortment of cool door prizes for us.
Milwaukee Riverwalk Boat Tour Sat. September 6th – John Lofgren. Start at Rock Bottom Brewery. Cost is $660.00. Fee will be $10/person, with a max. of 44 people. John will have something in the July IMMER.
Fall clean up - Jerry Zajicek, . Jerry is interested in hosting an event this fall to feature paint, interior wheel and trim cleaning and conditioning products he distributes as something like a Fall, clean and prep for winter or for putting the summer car to bed for the winter. He was interested and was going to talk with his supplier/distributor about bringing products, to try, buy, etc and do a show and tell. Will be October 18th @ O'Reilly's. Mike Loos will do a demonstration on scanning tool usage + there will be wash, cleanup and vehicle storage tips. Mustafa asked for the event to be added to the calendar.
New Business:
John Morgan – Suggested that the club consider offering a driving school discount for signing up for 3 driving events on 1 form. The 2 single day schools at Blackhawk Farms + the Road America weekend school fees could be combined into 1 discounted fee.
David Schnitzer – Proposed having a tire and alignment Tech. Event at Big Bear Tire in Oconomowoc. Following discussion, the board approved scheduling the event for the November time frame, with work actually be done on 1 members car.
Mustafa – Is working with BMW CCA National for standard waiver and release forms for events.
Jeff Joy – Has a personal card signed by Michael Schumacher that he received after attending the Indianapolis F1 race. Jeff wants to promote Badger Bimmers at the BMW Formula 1 Corral at this fall's F1 race, 9/28/03. Chris Fredette offered to head up coordinating a group trip.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:21 pm. The next meeting will be held on July 10th at the Calderone Club downtown on 842 N. Old World 3rd St. at 7 pm. Come and join us. Board meetings are open to ALL MEMBERS!
