Minutes for Badger Bimmer BMW Club Board Meeting
BBC - North Ave. and Farwell
November 14, 2002
Attendance: Mustafa Emir, Darcy Yench, Will Duffy, Dave Herr, Greg Smith, Paul Szedziewski, Steve Werner, Brian Brown, Joe Conway, Laura Emir, Matt and Laura Mead
Call to Order: 7:39 pm by Mustafa. Darcy took minutes
Secretary's Report: Unavailable
Treasurer's Report: $39,217.89 in checking account and CD Approved
Membership: _17_ new members, _813_ total members
Old Business:
Empty board position: Tabled from last meeting. The board had asked Paul Szedziewski to fill the board position vacated by John Morgan's resignation. He took a month to consider this matter and accepted the idea. The board voted unamously to have him fill the empty position on the current board for the remaining of the term. We will link Paul's email to the website addresses.
Elections: The ballot going out in the Dec. and Jan issues of the IMMER will have candidate statements and ballots to include:
President – Jeff Joy, Treasurer – David Schnitzer, Board members – Chris Fredette, John Lofgren and Steve Werner. The slate was approved and a big thanks to the nominating committee for a job well done.
Fall Tour: Although the route was planned well in advance, the route was not published. Many people expressed an interest in going but most fell through at the end and Greg and Wendy Smith are the only ones to make the entire route to LaCrosse. Greg reported it was a great trip and we should do the same thing next year since the route is already planned. Everyone was in agreement.
Holiday Party; Agreement was reached on having the party at O'Donnell Park with Ellen's Catering for food. Leslie will call and make the final arrangements to be reported in the Dec. and Jan. IMMER's with a 1 page flyer with information about cost and where to send money to for the event. As is tradition, the Holiday Party will take the place of the regular meeting in January so there will not be a January board meeting at the BBC the second Thursday in Jan. 2003
Badger Bimmer Committees: Mustafa will have information in the IMMER to try to generate some working committees from the members of the club.
New Business:
Holiday Party – Door prizes need to be secured for the holiday party. Mustafa will contact the local dealers and Dave Herr has an emergency kit to donate. Darcy will contact national. Anyone else who would like to contribute goodies is always welcome to and should contact Leslie or Darcy so they can compile a list for the event.
Mustafa has contracts that several other clubs use and Greg has the information he brought home from the conference he attended this summer. They will decide on the form we will use and get the billings out for current advertising. In the future, all advertising will have to be prepaid. We will also offer advertising for a charge on the website. Erik was contacted through the website by Kelly Moss in Madison about advertising in the IMMER. He will pass this information to Greg and Mustafa.
Adjournment: Mustafa adjourned the meeting at 8:34 pm. The next meeting will be held on Dec. 12th at 7:00 PM. Location is upstairs at the BBC on the NW corner of North Ave. and Farwell, Milwaukee, WI
