Old Business:
Blackhawk – Mary told Darcy there were about 22 paid entrants for August 2nd. Darcy took 1 phone message and responded to two emails on Wednesday about the August date. We received a $400. rebate for the June date. This will be the last rebate for this year. Mike C. posted the driving events on all news sites. The insurance certificate has been faxed to Cindy at Blackhawk for the August date. Will D. needs to reimburse Mike for the insurance amount.
Cling-on decal stickers: Will be given out at the Car Control Clinic, August 2nd and OktoberFAST will include in the packets.
Newsletter: July Immer will be going to the printer on Saturday and hopefully mailed the 16th or 17th. We are setting up and account with EconoPrint.
OctoberFAST: The price was set at $325 for participants, $200 for Friday lapping, and $125 for instructors. 9 sessions will be available on Friday. Registration form will be online 7/12 or 13 and in the IMMER this month. Darcy will contact Siebkens about dinner Sat, 10/5.
Fall Tour: Joe heard from Jeff Joy that he was in contact with Jim Jorgenson, SCCA pro rallyist and will meet with group in the next week or two to work on the route. We should plan on two stops across the state so others can join in on the fun. New Glaris was mentioned as a possibility for the first stop then about ½ way between there and LaCrosse for another. Hopefully, the drive will get to the motel around 5:30pm so people can check in and get ready for dinner approximately 7-7:30pm and then off to Blackhawk Pub for entertainment after.
Member Badges _ were sent back and should be here 7/22 or 7/23.
Club Race: Mike has the Badger Bimmer banners for display at the race. Mike reported getting $500. each from Knauz, Concours and International Autos in sponsorship for the Club Race. He has 2 rooms for the BMW officials. There are only 2 confirmed race participants at this time. Midwest Council has published the schedule and Racers can cross to Midwest Council for an additional $125. for an extra race.
Steve Olsen was contacted again about getting information to all registered club racers. Participants are notified in the packet that no antifreeze may be used in vehicles. Mike and Patty Clemens will handle registration on Friday, from 6-9 at Siebken's (?). Joe said he could help also. Someone needs to be available on Sat am at the track. Joe will do this also. We will notify club members that they can come up to this event for free but need to contact Mike Clemens to arrange for registration and arm bands. Jay will broadcast same.
Club Race Participant Gifts: Darcy checked into a couple of items with Mary Ellen Resenhoeft of Body Language who is also doing the t-shirts for the event. Mike Clemens will coordinate this.
Mini Coopers: Are considered BMW's for BMW CCA events and are approved for club racing.
Car Control Clinic: Chris F. will spent just under $250. to make lights. They are almost completed and he will turn in receipts at the next meeting. John M. priced new cones at about $5.25/each to buy. Jay will send a message to the list about the event and registration will be from 7:30-8:30 am. Bob Clark will assist with the clinic.
Badger Bimmer Committees: Greg brought back a letter sample from the conference that we can use to modify and send to new members. Label files for new members will be obtained from Wynne at BMW
Advertising Contracts: Greg Smith will work up an advertising contract and bring it to the next meeting in August.
Directors and Officers Insurance: Discussion was that we need liability insurance to protect Badger Bimmers officers and directors not D&O insurance.
Helmet Release Forms: We will have for all driving school participants a helmet release form to sign August 2nd. We will also provide a sticker only for the helmets. We have been doing this at O'FAST for a couple of years and will continue to do so.
New Business:
1) The board voted to give Don Gawronski free driving events participation for his efforts in laying out the IMMER, with our THANKS!.
2) Board approved of Jay Schmidt's heading a committee to work with Will Duffy and come up with a yearly budget to look at revenue and expenses.
3) We want to make sure the sponsors for our events get proper recognition for helping ensure our successes.
Adjournment: Darcy adjourned the meeting at 8:20 pm. The next meeting will be held on August 8th at 7:00 PM. Location is upstairs at the BBC on the NW corner of North Ave. and Farwell, Milwaukee, WI
