IMMER: Don and Mustafa brought the layout of the next IMMER to the meeting. It is off to the printer. Next issue will go out toward the end of April. Get your articles in ASAP. Request to publish the auto cross schedules for WAI and SCCA in our publication was approved. David Schnitzer wrote about them in an article coming out, also. Applications for the upcoming driving events will be published in next month's issue.
Mike Clemens and John Morgan will be attended the Driving Conference in Atlanta on Feb 22-23. John reported this to be a good conference with lots of information from Risk Management. There is a new incident reporting form. They need to be submitted within 48 hours of the event. There is a new Driving Foundation looking to target young drivers that are not associated with the club to teaching them driving skills. Proposed $100/participant. Details are still being worked out.
Larry Boyer shared some information from Audi regarding driving schools and in particular RA which we will be adopting for our events.
Calendar scheduling meeting at Mustafa's on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003 was a huge success. We were able to schedule some fun stuff for the coming year. Some new things are on the list. COME OUT AND MEET YOUR FELLOW CLUB MEMBERS! Several of us met at the Calderone Club to watch the Formula 1 race this past weekend. Look for more get togethers there for other races. The Car Control Clinic is tentatively set for June 8th. Chris has been in contact with WCTC but does not have it locked it with them yet. He will update us as soon as he knows hopefully next Monday, 3/17.
Mary brought the proposed budget for the driving schools at Blackhawk to the board. We established a slightly higher fee due to the track rental gone up as well as higher insurance. With the resurfacing of the track it should be a really fun time this year. Lots of improvements at BHF since last season.
Calderone Club, downtown on 3rd and Kilborne on March 13, 2003 was a wonderful change. Thank you to Gino and Larry for allowing us to have our meetings at their establishment.
Paul has registration forms for Gingerman on June 16th, a Monday. He is coordinating for our club members who wish to participate in the event. Badger Bimmers are not putting on this event. He will collect forms until around the middle of April and pass them on to the organizer. He also has information about a place to stay on Sunday night if needed.
David has received the checkbook and is satisfied with the accounting spreadsheets Will gave him. He will continue using them for now. It was suggested he think about using different software and he will evaluate in the future as he becomes more familiar with what he has.
Mary delivered a Ficus recoverosa plant, key chain and all of our good wished to Jay Schmidt.
New Business:
John has request of the board to purchase an additional 100 cones for our driving schools. The board gave its approval and asked Steve Werner to order them again for us. He agreed to do so. Will get the Co. info from Will from the receipt.
Jeff wanted to get a big name speaker for the annual dinner in 2004. Some names were mentioned and will try to line someone up to do so. Leslie Ivarson and Sarah Erdmann will be working on looking into a different caterer for next year.
We need to set up an account with the printer for the postage for the IMMER. Board agreed to establish same. Mustafa and David will get that handled. We will still be billed for the IMMER but have to pay for postage up front.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm. The next meeting will be held on April 10th at the Calderone Club downtown on 842 N. Old World 3rd St. at 7 pm. Come and join us. Board meetings are open to ALL MEMBERS!
