Second Harvest Needs Your Help

Badger Bimmers has been making annual contributions to a charity of our choice as part of our national charter. Our fund raising has not had a coordinator for the past few years, though we have had Pig Roasts, which have raised very modest funds. We think it's time we got serious.

We hope every member who attends a club event, starting with our Car Clean Up and our Spring Rallye in April, will make either a cash contribution or bring a donation of non-perishable food items.

Second Harvest is working with us by providing information as well as containers and barrels. Someone will be at every event to remind you to contribute. The Second Harvest mission is to feed the hungry in Wisconsin.

Second Harvest distributes 50,000 pounds of donated food and grocery products every day, giving to nearly 1,100 charitable organizations in 36 Wisconsin counties. In an average year, manufacturers, wholesalers, brokers, retailers and growers donate more than 14 million pounds.  In Eastern Wisconsin, more than 235,000 people are served every day, 173,000 in Southeastern counties. 37% of them are under 18 years old, 58% between 18 and 64. Almost 80% receive other government assistance for childcare, disability, or unemployment. A third are numbered among "the working poor".

We Bimmers are especially fortunate - enjoying a great quality of life and an appreciation of some of the best engineered and best handling passenger cars in the world.  Please remember to give generously and often. You can also help by volunteering to help spread the word at an event.
